Walt Disney World has released the Global Marketplace booth lineup for the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, which suggests the park’s flagship culinary event will kick off in two phases. This post will offer a preview of new and returning food booths, and more.
As a reminder, the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World runs longer than ever before–from July 15 through November 20, 2021 for a grand total of 129 days. The Global Marketplaces will span six continents and be located throughout the World Showcase pavilions and spill into Future World, with the booths open each day from park opening until park closing.
One unsurprising detail is that many of the Global Marketplaces will not debut at the start of the event on July 15, 2021. In the official announcement, Walt Disney World states “there are new Global Marketplace concepts coming to Morocco, The American Adventure and throughout the park in July, with even more marketplaces opening in the fall.” Digging a bit deeper around DisneyWorld.com, we’ve found opening dates and a full list of the food booth lineup…
Walt Disney World also shared that CORKCICLE is the presenting sponsor for the 2021 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. This is undoubtedly the single most exciting detail to everyone reading this. Even bigger news: if you visit Shimmering Sips Global Marketplace or four other locations during the event, you can buy an exclusive keepsake CORKCICLE beverage container!!!
I’m sure everyone planning a trip to Walt Disney World in October 2021 was anxiously awaiting news of event merchandise cobranded with the sponsor. How else would you commemorate the occasion? Who even needs 50th souvenirs now?!?
Entertainment will return for the 2021 Epcot Food & Wine Festival, with daily performances by Voices of Liberty, Mariachi Cobre, and Jammin’ Chefs. (Here’s hoping there are more announcements about Epcot entertainment to come–World Showcase could use a shot in the arm!)
The festival will also open with America Gardens Bandstand presented by Florida Blue Medicare, a live-music concert series performed Friday through Monday evenings. Local bands from across Central Florida will take to the America Gardens Theatre stage, playing popular songs of yesterday and today.
For families, Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak will send kids of all ages on a savory scavenger hunt around the festival. Another way for families to have fun together is by participating in Emile’s Fromage Montage.
You’ll find new ways to experience cheese when you purchase five participating dishes from select Global Marketplaces, including a passionfruit cheesecake with toasted macadamia nuts. Collect five stamps and scurry over to Shimmering Sips for a prize!
Below is a list of the Global Marketplaces from DisneyWorld.com. Some of these booths are listed as opening October 1, 2021, which is the start date of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and grand opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure.
Others have no opening date, and are thus presumably debuting with the event on July 15, 2021. However, that’s an assumption at this point. It’s always possible Walt Disney World will stagger the openings of other booths, based booth on staffing realities and demand.
While this appears to be relatively final based upon the number of booths, we are personally hoping that’s not the case. Some of our favorite options from the “Culinary Corridor” (e.g. Coastal Eats, Cheese Studio, Wine & Dine Studio, Chocolate Studio) went on hiatus last year, and are once again conspicuously absent.
With that said, the various EPCOT festivals are all about trying different things and discovering new favorite dishes. There are many promising options on this list that we’re extremely excited to give a try!
